Preserving the past for future generations
Our Mission
Since 1993, the Cabrillo Beach Boosters have been champions of preservation, education, and community at one of Los Angeles’ most cherished coastal gems.
Formed with the mission of implementing the San Pedro Community Plan and the Coastal Plan for Cabrillo Beach, our organization is deeply committed to restoring and preserving the historical, recreational, and marine heritage of this beloved shoreline.
At the heart of our vision stands the Cabrillo Beach Bathhouse, a stunning example of Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, which, after decades of decline, was triumphantly re-dedicated on its 70th anniversary in 2002 thanks to our tireless advocacy and partnership with the City of Los Angeles and the Harbor Department.
But our work is far from done!
As stewards of San Pedro’s coastal legacy, we continue to build on the momentum of our past successes. With renewed focus, we’re now working to restore the Angels Gate Lighthouse, battered by time, weather, and neglect, into a beacon of pride once more, in partnership with the United States Coast Guard.
Looking forward, the Cabrillo Beach Boathouse and Pavilions represent our boldest vision yet: a reimagined waterfront rooted in history, alive with recreation, and dedicated to the people.
Each year, the Cabrillo Beach Boosters raise funds for the Annual John Olguin Fireworks Extravaganza lighting up the skies over Cabrillo Beach for the last 75 years!
Through every initiative, the Cabrillo Beach Boosters remain steadfast in our belief that coastal access, education, and preservation are gifts meant to be shared across generations.
